What is Project ECHO?
The University of Iowa's Rural Behavioral Health Project ECHO is a FREE virtual educational activity and resource available to partner hospitals within the UI Rural Network.
Based on the University of New Mexico's original Project ECHO, the UI Rural Behavioral Health Project ECHO is managed by the UI Department of Psychiatry.
How does Project ECHO work?
The UI Rural Behavioral Health Project ECHO uses videoconferencing to connect interdisciplinary teams of specialists and subject matter experts.
Together, the Project ECHO "hub" team and participants develop advanced skills and best practices through collaboration and case-based learning in an “all teach, all learn” environment.
How long is each virtual session?
Each virtual session lasts 1 hour. The session begins with a brief educational lecture and ends with a case-based learning activity.
Who can attend the UI Rural Behavioral Health Project ECHO?
Any employee of a UI Rural Network Organization.
Is Project ECHO really free to attend?
Yes!
